MSU Extension is a county-based educational arm of Michigan State University, the US Department of Agriculture and Emmet County. Our mission is to provide quality, research based educational programs to the citizens of Emmet County.

Crooked Tree Youth Leadership
The Emmet 4-H Leadership Academy is a collaborative education program sponsored by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians, Emmet County Board of Commissioners and Michigan State University Extension. The program provides selected high school aged students an opportunity to learn about tribal, local and state government with a “hands-on” approach. Students will also engage in identifying public issues, and learn how citizens work within government to accomplish public objectives and meet community needs.
