BE AWARE! ELECTRIC SHOCK DROWNING IS A SERIOUS ISSUE!
With water levels still extremely high in the Great Lakes and our inland lakes, there is an increased possibility of a person falling victim to Electric Shock Drowning (ESD). Swimmers, boaters, and dock owners should arm themselves with more knowledge about how this silent, invisible danger can quickly turn a fun day into a tragic day. The Emmet County Building Department has put together an informational article to help you learn more.
EMMET COUNTY MASTER PLAN 2021-2025
The Emmet County Board of Commissioners approved a new Emmet County Master Plan for the years 2021-2025 at its November 5, 2020 meeting. The document guides land use decisions made by the Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners. County officials encourage the public to review the Master Plan, read through the comments provided by local residents to our survey, and check out a detailed community vulnerability assessment that was conducted in 2019 by the Land Information Access Association for the purpose of providing information aimed at improving climate resilience by reducing human and community vulnerabilities. Comments may be emailed to Tammy Doernenburg, Planning and Zoning Director.
